This course prepares students to challenge the nursing assistant competency exam in Florida. This fast paced course provides the student an opportunity to review essential materials and practice necessary patient care skills. Students will also complete a practice written examination. Once a student has completed this course they will have the option to apply for and challenge the exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Step to become a CNA
--Confirm you meet all the requirements of becoming a CNA
--Register for your CNA Prep Course
--Attend your scheduled CNA Prep Course
--Come prepared to register with Prometric (we will walk you through this process on Day TWO of training)
--Begin Level 2 Background Check (Instructions provided by CNA instructor on Day TWO of training)
--Take your state exam: both written and skills portions
--PASS YOUR STATE EXAM
--Once you have passed both parts Florida Board of Nursing will send certificate and add you to CNA registry.
Course Details
Course Fee: $349.00 (DOES NOT INCLUDE: Background check or State Exam enrollment (We will help you though get these tasks done).
Course Length: 15 to 20 hours in three to four days
Course Requirements: 1.) No Prior Experience Required to complete our course. 2.) If 17 and under, you must hold a GED or high school diploma, otherwise no other educational requirements are needed, 3.) Complete the Pre-Course Module (see below).
Pre-Course Module: Your Pre-Course Module will be sent as a link to your email immediately upon registration. This module will give you an overview of the process of becoming a CNA, what to expect during and after class and help answer some of our most commonly asked questions. This pre-course module must be completed prior to coming to class. Email your Certification to cna@gatorcpr.com or bring this certification of completion with you on Day 1.

Basic Life Support/BLS (available in Gainesville and Ocala only) is an American Heart Association certification course that covers CPR, AED and relief of choking. You do not need this certification to complete the prep course or take the exam but most employers will require you to have it. The course is a 2-3 hour long, in-person certification course. The certification is good for two year.
